Principals
Alok Sindher, Managing Director
Prior to UVF, Alok was an Associate at Mercer Management Consulting. At Mercer, Alok focused on operations strategy for technology and retail corporations. As a pro-bono project, he also established an online volunteer management platform for Boston Cares. Prior to Mercer, Alok was a product marketing analyst at VeriSign where he delivered internet security solutions to China and other Asian nations. Alok began his technology career at IBM as a software engineer where he developed mobile applications. Alok graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science and a B.A. in Economics from Stanford University.
Gary Patterson, Director
Prior to UVF, Gary worked in product and program management roles at SupportSoft, a technical support software company. During his five years with the company, SupportSoft went from cash flow negative to positive to profitability and a second offering. After serving on a post-acquisition advisory team for the company’s integration planning for Core Networks, he led the first deployment of the new technology product at a Fortune 100 company. Gary also worked in consulting at American Management Systems where he focused on financial applications, system integration, and process automation. He began his career as a neuroscience researcher investigating the neurobiological basis of learning and memory.
Baris Aksoy
Baris spent eight years in product marketing and product development at Cswitch, Calix and Alcatel. He also co-founded an e-commerce business and a non-profit organization in education. Baris is on the board of directors for TABCA, serving the Turkish American business community. Baris is also an avid windsurfer and golfer.
Dan Grabell
Prior to UVF, Dan was Business Analyst at AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals. At AstraZeneca, Dan focused on sales and marketing strategy for the cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, and oncology products. He also developed and managed the summer internship program for the Northeast Region. Dan began his health care career as a pharmaceutical sales representative where he was recognized for his top performance. Dan graduated with a B.A. in the Biological Basis of Behavior from the University of Pennsylvania and has a MA in Speech and Interpersonal Communications from New York University.
Amy Lin
Amy started her professional career as an associate consultant at Towers Perrin, a global consulting services firm. At Towers Perrin, she attained a unique view of the healthcare industry through the eyes of large pharmaceutical firms. Amy then worked as a business development analyst at Core Security Technologies, an Argentinean computer security software and consulting company, assisting with business planning, marketing, sales, partnerships, and fund raising. Most recently, Amy was a business development manager at Clifford Chance, the largest law firm in the world as measured by revenues. In this role, Amy planned and implemented business initiatives worldwide.
Greg Neichin
Before returning to life as a student, Greg was the Vice President of Business Development for GetActive Software, a developer of online relationship management software for public interest and charitable organizations. Prior to GetActive, he wrote research and consulted for SRI Consulting Business Intelligence (a spin-off consulting firm of SRI International) and worked in strategy and business development for Redback Networks. He began his professional career as a Consultant with Mercer Management Consulting working on issues of technology commercialization, salesforce optimization, and retailing.
